How to support a global coalition to shift the world's financial flows, for the planet?

The IPCF is an extraordinary project, seeking to connect people across the financial system to shift global financial flows to support the Paris Climate agreement. We are very proud to have been asked to support the IPCF in developing a project that requires a systemic and collaborative approach in meeting a vast and complex challenge.

The essence of the work we did was to help the IPCF explore questions about how to organise to be more systemic, complementing the exceptional technical and policy work that is driving the work going forward. Specifically, this involved hosting a series of interviews and conversations, then presenting a set of principles and scenarios to work with in developing the IPCF. The work was taken on by the IPCF as part of a suite of workstreams, and as at the end of 2020 it has helped shift an amazing project forward.

Our approach combined an Appreciative Inquiry approach together with principles from ‘Reinventing Organizations’ and our work in understanding natural systems. Andres Roberts, founder of the Bio-Leadership Project continues to offer support and advice as part of a project steering group as well as through wider strategy work supporting Aviva Investors.

We are excited to see how the IPCF is building momentum, most likely playing a key role in a critical year for climate negotiations.
